LAVA FLOW AT "FOX LANDING", KALAPANA, HAWAII - JULY 29, 2010
(Be sure to scroll down and see all six photos below!)

On Thursday morning, the lava flow was entering the ocean at smaller beach to the west of Ili Ili Beach, aka "Fox Landing."

The spectators were getting dangerously close, and were blasted with steam a few times.

By Thursday evening, the lava had spread over most of the beach.
First two photos and next photo below taken from point seen in front of the beach in this photo.

Morning shot of the lava flow over the trail to the beach.

Below the cool surface it is still red-hot, as you can see in spots. This stone wall appears to have contained the lava slightly.
It passed through a low spot in the back. The wall is along the boundary of a Hawaiian family home which has been spared so far.
